Beyoncé Knowles reportedly doesn't see the need to "parade" her charity work around.
The singing superstar is good friends with Gwyneth Paltrow, but it's thought relations have cooled somewhat of late. At the root of the problem is said to be a recent charity sale Gwyneth conducted on her website Goop. Many of her celebrity pals donated items, but at the time news of her split from her Coldplay rocker husband Chris Martin was still fresh.
"A while back, Bey had donated a pair of brightly coloured stiletto boots (that designer Stuart Weitzman made just for her) to Gwyneth's charity sale on her Goop website. But, after the split, she thought it best that her name wasn't attached to the event," an insider claimed to British magazine Heat.
"She would have been fine if they had just sold her stuff anonymously. She doesn't feel the need to parade all her charity work for people to see, so she was annoyed when the email went out."
Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z were known to be close to Gwyneth and Chris, so it's possible they don't want to take sides. The singer is thought to still be in touch with the actress, but is keeping things low-key.
"Gwyn and Beyoncé haven't spoken much since Gwyn's split with Chris, although Bey has checked in on how she and the kids are doing," the source said.
The news is in direct contrast to a report last week which suggested Gwyneth was hoping to take a vacation with Beyoncé in an effort to help her forget her troubles. Beyoncé and Jay recently hit the headlines after her sister Solange was caught on camera attacking Jay in an elevator. While they have released a statement insisting the family has moved on from the incident, rumours are still swirling about what caused the outburst.
"Gwyneth reckons this is just what her friend needs to get her energy back," a source told British newspaper The Sun of the planned holiday.
