Prince reportedly demands there be “no stairs” at his hotels on his UK tour.

The Purple Rain hitmaker brought his Hit and Run tour to the UK in May after performing a series of impromptu gigs there earlier this year.

And UK newspaper The Sun reports his rider includes a few unusual requests that must be filled before the shows go on.

“Prince’s list of demands has been going out to all his hotels in the UK before he arrives at them. His requests all have to be fulfilled or he won’t turn up to play,” a source said.

In addition to the apparent “no stairs” rule, paintings or photos of animals or faces are also reportedly banned.

And Prince has reportedly also demanded all books and “obstructive rugs” be removed from his suite after each show.
The Sun reports it’s far from the first time Prince has made such bizarre demands.

Apparently he hoped to construct a five-bedroom house near London’s O2 Arena in 2007 for a 21-show residency.

Prince also reportedly demanded to be chauffeured in a limo between his dressing room and the stage at Kent’s Hop Farm Festival – a total of 80 feet.

The star has so far performed a series of shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and London since taking his tour to the UK.

NME reports his set list includes some of his biggest hits, as well as songs expected to be featured on a forthcoming album with 3rdEyeGirl.

A spokesperson for the star had not commented on the claims at press time.
