Rihanna is reportedly organising a “writing camp” for her next album.

The Barbadian pop star is said to be working on her eighth release, nine years after storming the charts with her debut record, Music of the Sun.

And according to UK newspaper The Sun, she’s intent on making sure her next offering is packed with catchy lyrics, and plans to put up her closest pals in music publishing in London for 10 days to focus on the project.

The group will reportedly stay in the city from July 10-20 to work on the record, tentatively planned for release later this year.

“They’ve already rented out the studio space and her manager Jay Brown will be overseeing the whole thing – literally collecting songs to complete the album,” a source said.

“She did the same in 2012 and people thought she was here for festival season but while she was out and about, her camp had writers working on songs in studios around the city. As soon as they hear something they like, they’ll call her in and have her record it.That’s why Unapologetic had a lot of British writers on its credits, Labrinth being one of them.”

Rihanna has yet to comment on the report. The singer recently announced plans to hit the road with Eminem, however.

The pair have a series of joint summer concerts planned for the Eminem X Rihanna The Monster Tour, scheduled to kick off in Pasadena, California on August 7. Two dates in the city will be followed by pairs of shows in New York City and Detroit, Michigan, where the tour will wrap on August 23.
