Perrie Edwards “guesses” her wedding to Zayn Malik is on hold.
The One Direction heartthrob proposed to his Little Mix girlfriend last year and there has been constant speculation about when they will exchange vows. They were thought to be planning a ceremony for 2015, but as One Direction recently announced their new On The Road Again shows will kick off next February, it seems Perrie and Zayn might need to rethink things.
“I’m guessing so, yes,” Perrie told British newspaper Metro, when asked if the plans would need to be shelved.
“But after that, once it starts dying down a little bit touring-wise, we’ll be able to get into it.”
News of One Direction’s upcoming shows came while on their ongoing Where We Are Tour. Perrie is also performing with her group, so seems in no rush to lock down the nuptials. The couple’s busy schedules mean they don’t always get to spend a lot of time together, but Perrie is fine with that.
“It makes it a bit more exciting because you don’t get to see each other, so when you do see each other, you get butterflies. It’s nice. It would be hard if we didn’t feel like they were worth it,” she explained of her and her bandmates’ dating attitudes.
In November last year it was claimed Zayn was prepared to “move mountains” to ensure a wedding date could be set.
Perrie was said to be keen to get the ball rolling, but she seems content to wait for the perfect time now.
Part of the reason could be because the two are yet to decide on the kind of day they want. Last month it was claimed they both had their hearts set on completely different ceremonies.
"If it was up to Zayn, it'd be just the two of them with close family. But Perrie's imagining things on a massive scale; she wants a castle or to hire a private island," an insider divulged to British magazine Now.
