American uber-producer Rick Rubin has been working with Australia’s Angus & Julia Stone on their next album.

Rubin has worked with dozens of major acts including Beastie Boys, Johnny Cash, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Weezer, ZZ Top and Tom Petty.

“This album is extraordinary; Angus and Julia are truly unique musicians,” Rick said in a statement. “They are authentic and pure people who do things from the heart. I’ve never worked with anyone like them before.”
The self-titled third album for Angus & Julia Stones, following up their no 1 album ‘Down The Way’ from 2010 and no. 6 debut ‘A Book Like This’ in 2007.

Their debut album ‘A Book Like This’ achieved Platinum sales in 2007 and their sophomore album ‘Down The Way’ achieved 4 x Platinum sales and went on to win multiple ARIA awards in 2010 – Album Of The Year, Best Adult Alternative Album, Best Cover Art and Producer of The Year and Single Of The Year for 3 x Platinum ‘Big Jet Plane’. “Big Jet Plane’ also went to #1 on the Triple J Hottest 100 of that year and scored the band APRA Song Of The Year and APRA Songwriters Of The Year Awards.

‘Angus & Julia Stone’ will be released on August 1.
