Austin Mahone recalls a time when an overzealous fan invaded his car.

The 18-year-old Say Something singer has a devoted international following, lovingly dubbed ‘Mahomies’.

But Austin once experienced a bizarre scenario with a fan as he drove home from one of his concerts.

“One time this girl hopped in my car when I was on my way driving home from a show,” he shared during a visit to American TV programme the Today Show on Memorial Day Monday. “And I looked over and I was like, ‘I’ve never seen you before. What are you doing?’”

Although he was slightly panicked initially, Austin eventually decided to ask the young lady to exit his vehicle.
“I had to,” he declared. “I couldn’t just take her home!”

Austin is preparing for the release of his second EP The Secret, which will reach listeners on Tuesday.

Thousands of fans waited in line to see his holiday Today Show performance and the star appreciates their devotion to his music.

Austin believes his Mahomies are in for a treat, as he put a lot of effort into cutting quality tracks for The Secret.

“It's been a lot of work, but I mean my fans are the reason I'm here, so I've got to give it up to them,” he said.

Austin’s support tour for The Secret will kick off on July 25, in his hometown San Antonio, Texas. He will be joined by The Vamps and Fifth Harmony for the shows.
