'That little 'ole band from Texas', ZZ Top, celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2014 with the release of the new career compilation The Very Baddest of ZZ Top.

Although Billy Gibbons had two other musicians in the group when it formed in 1969, by the end of that year those original members had been replaced by Frank Beard and Dusty Hill to form a group that remains together to this day.

Fifteen studio albums and thousands of tour dates later, ZZ Top remain one of the greats of the classic rock and blues genre. Their new compilation covers their entire career in two formats, a twenty-song set that presents the true cream of the band's output and a forty-song two-CD album that digs deeper into their catalog.

Gibbons said of the set 'We're glad that material originally issued by three different labels over the course of all these years will now be housed under one 'roof,' so to speak. It's kind of a big, bad family reunion on some level.'

The single disc includes tracks from , missing ZZ Top's First Album, Rio Grande Mud, Tejas, XXX and La Futura. The double album includes all albums except for La Futura.
