Axl Rose wants to disband Guns N’ Roses and retire, according to reports.

The flame haired singer has been the frontman of the rock band since their formation in 1985. But after their current Las Vegas residency ends next month, it’s been reported the 52-year-old is keen for the group to part ways.

“Band members have been told their calendars are free following Vegas,” a source close to the band told Radar Online. “Axl is considering retiring and it’s done. Band members and support staff were surprised when told the news and are actively looking for work.”

The Sweet Child O’Mine singer is the only original member still in Guns N’ Roses. The original line-up included lead guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Steven Adler and rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin but all left at various points over the years.

The current members are bass player Tommy Stinson, Dizzy Read on keyboards and percussion, lead guitarist DJ Ashba, Frank Ferrer on drums, Chris Pitman on keyboards and rhythm guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal.

The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 with Axl refusing to attend. But after years on the road and the various band member changes, Axl has reportedly had enough of touring.

“Axl has made enough money and wants to stop touring,” another source added. “He is considering retiring.”
