Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles have “worked through” Solange drama.
The rapper was assaulted by Beyoncé’s little sister Solange in an elevator at a Met Gala after party, and TMZ released footage of the attack earlier this week.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé have finally broken their silence on the incident, as they addressed the matter Thursday in an official statement to The Associated Press.
“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,” the notice read.
Several rumours about what instigated the assault have been generated.
But the couple assure fans most of them are completely fabricated.
“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behaviour throughout that evening are simply false,” the statement continued. “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”
According to Jay-Z and Beyoncé, all is now well between themselves and Solange.
“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologised to each other and we have moved forward as a united family,” the release read.
The initial attack occurred at The Standard Hotel in New York City.
And a spokesperson for the establishment has since confirmed the person responsible for leaking the footage was fired and they’ve turned over the investigation to criminal authorities.
