Jennifer Lopez admits she’s been craving butter since becoming a vegan.

The singer has always been known for her fabulous figure, but has recently decided that the best way to stay in shape is to completely overhaul her diet. The 44-year-old spent some time as a vegetarian a few years ago but she has now removed all animal products from her food plan.

“Being vegan, it's basically no dairy, no meat, everything is plant based and from the ground. Butter is the one thing I miss!” she told New York radio station Z100.

Despite her dairy craving, the American Idol judge would encourage people to try the diet. Vegans don’t consume meat, eggs, dairy products or other animal-derived ingredients and Jennifer has noticed the positive change it has had on her life.

“You do feel better. I do recommend the vegan diet because you wake up and feel great!” she said.

Her heightened positive energy only adds to the youthful attitude the mother-of-two feels she has always possessed. The Jenny from the Block singer doesn’t feel like being in her forties has changed the way she feels about herself in any way.

“I do love being a woman but I still feel very girlish inside and I have a youthful quality where people think of me as me,” she said.

Jennifer isn’t the only superstar who has tried the vegan diet. Earlier this year, Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z decided to go vegan for 22 days, with the Crazy in Love singer showing off the impressive results at the Grammy Awards.
