Austin Mahone says he’s learned a lot from Justin Bieber’s mistakes.

The 18-year-old pop star is similar to the 20-year-old Baby crooner, as they both rose to international fame at a very young age.

But Austin doesn’t think he’ll ever be involved in criminal cases like fellow heartthrob Justin due to the network of supportive loved ones surrounding him.

"I mean, everyone makes mistakes," Austin told Celebuzz.

"I think it all comes down to having a good, solid team around. Like I have my best friends to travel with me, and my mom to travel with me, so I think I have a pretty good base. I think that's what it all comes down to."

Justin has several legal charges pending in the US and his native Canada, including allegations he committed assault.
Austin was seen collaborating with the troubled star last month, but he assures Justin’s influence is only musical.

"We were in the studio for about a week," the Say Something singer recalled. "And when we were in there, [Justin] was helping me with [my] music, and we were doing a little writing. He was just giving me little tips."

Austin has been making waves on the music scene for some time now, with hits such as 11:11 and What About Love. He also bagged the Artist to Watch prize at the MTV Video Music Awards last year.

Austin announced in April his second EP The Secret will be released on May 27. The album’s support tour will kick off on July 25, in his hometown San Antonio, Texas. He will be joined by The Vamps and Fifth Harmony for the shows.
