Gwyneth Paltrow “sweat out impurities” while other stars partied at the Met Gala.
The 41-year-old actress confirmed through her rep last month she would not be attending this year’s ball.
And apparently she underwent an esoteric vitamin treatment in Los Angeles as her A-lister peers walked the red carpet in New York City.
“She had the IV in her arm,” a source told Radar Online.
“The lymphatic massage treatment helps with jet lag, too: they wrap you in a blanket and you sweat out impurities.”
It was rumoured Gwyneth had a terrible experience at the Met Ball last year, as she was spotted palpably feuding with former BFF Madonna.
In 2009 Gwyneth apparently became sick of Madonna’s antics and decided to end the relationship, and it is said the songstress refused to move on from the disagreement while they attended the lavish affair.
“Madonna would sh*t on her, over and over,” an insider told Us Weekly at the time.
“She feels Gwyneth abandoned her. Now Madonna will do anything to make her suffer.
Madonna was also a no-show at this year’s event.
After the May 2013 Met Gala, Gwyneth came clean about her lacklustre experience there.
The thespian made it clear she did not have a good time.
“It was so un-fun. I did not enjoy it at all,” she lamented to USA Today.
In March Gwyneth revealed she and separated from her husband of 10 years Chris Martin. She described the split as their mutual decision to split as a “conscious uncoupling”.
The former couple share two young children together, Apple, nine, and Moses, eight.
