Having recently revealed AA single, You Know My Name / Wedding Day online, Courtney now unveils her official video for You Know My Name.
Directed by Maximilla Lukacs, the video is a collaboration which has been 4 years in the making.
Maximilla describes the creative process behind the making of the video: “You Know My Name” is a very hard hitting punk song and Courtney and I wanted to make a video that would counter that full force with very soft and feminine visuals. We chose an extremely feminine color palette but all the action is anarchic and wild! It has the feeling of being on a female pirate ship. Full of explosions of glitter and lace! It is fearless, raw and beautiful just like Courtney.”
The video was partially inspired by the Czech New Wave anarcho- feminist romp “Daisies” directed by Vera Chytilova which is a beautiful example of a highly stylized feminine chaos. As well as the incredible imagery of Tim Walker.
The single is available to buy now via digital download with a limited edition 7” vinyl to follow.
Courtney Love has confirmed that she will be returning to the UK in May 2014 for a 9 date tour starting with two consecutive shows at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on May 11 and 12 and finishing at Newcastle Riverside on May 22.
This will be Courtney’s first UK tour in 4 years having not played here since May 2010.
The UK is a second home to Courtney and she is thrilled to be returning explaining: "I feel most at home in the UK and can't wait to catch up on TOWIE and play in my second and hopefully, inevitably my first home. I grew up half a British citizen and I just miss it. I can't wait to play for my Brits”.
The multi platinum selling, Grammy and Golden Globe nominated recording artist will be joined on stage as part of her band with her friend and UK cult legend Ginger Wildheart of The Wildhearts.
