Former R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck has unveiled his new band super-Earth with two shows in Portland this week.

super-Earth is Buck and band fronted by Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney with Scott McCaughey (Minus 5), Dill Riefin (Ministry) and Kurt Bloch (Fastback).

Buck and Tucker have worked together before. She appeared on Buck's 2012 solo album 'I Am Back To Blow Your Mind Once Again'.

super-Earth made its live debut with a 12-song set of brand new songs at the Secret Society Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. The cover charge for the show . $5.

This is the latest supergroup involving the REM guitarist as he is still a member of Tired Pony another supergroup consisting of Gary Lightbody, Richard Colburn, Iain Archer, Jacknife Lee, Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey and Troy Stewart.
