Rita Ora says ripping off Zac Efron’s shirt was a purely “spontaneous moment”.
The pair made a famous flirty exchange at this month’s MTV Movie Awards, as the stunning British singer removed his button-up after he accepted a trophy for Best Shirtless Performance.
Rita confirmed to MTV News the interaction wasn’t scripted in the slightest.
“[It was] a spontaneous moment,” she told the outlet.
Rita went on to joke she acted out of divine inspiration.
The star said a little voice instructed her to reveal the heartthrob’s chiseled chest to the world.
“Kind of like somebody in my mind spoke to me and said, 'You better go rip that shirt off!'” she laughed.
Apparently Zac was enamoured by Rita from the moment he saw her backstage.
It is claimed he followed her everywhere while they spent time together at the annual awards ceremony.
“There was a lot of chemistry between the two and Zac seemed really taken with Rita – following her around like a lovesick puppy,” a source told UK newspaper The Mirror recently.
Rita is thought to be in a relationship with Scottish EDM producer Calvin Harris, but there are rumours the romance has stalled of late.
This isn’t the first time similar speculation has arisen this year, as insiders claimed they took a break from their romance in January.
“Rita and Calvin have split,” a source told British newspaper The Sun at the time.
“It’s been tough for both of them but it’s been even harder for them to spend time together recently.
“He’s busy DJing and she’s working on her new album and shooting 50 Shades Of Grey.”
