Aaron Carter and Thor actress Jaimie Alexander were among stars showing their charitable sides on Good Friday.

The singer and actress volunteered for The LA Mission’s Skid Row Easter, helping to feed and clothe the homeless in the downtown Los Angeles neighbourhood.

A spokesperson from the organisation applauded Jamie for spending her Friday giving back as the actress lined up to wash the feet of those living on the streets at the event.

“Actress @jaimiealexander displaying her heart of gold! Washing feet at #skidroweaster. #lamvolunteer,” read a tweet from the organisation, which distributed approximately 2,000 pairs of shoes.

Aaron meanwhile logged onto Instagram, sharing a snap of himself with actress Jen Lilley as they filled up empty plates.

“My serving partner, the lovely and talented @jen_lilley lamission #lamission,” he wrote. “Ready to start volunteering!!”
“Serving it up! #ham #goodfriday #giveback @lamission #lamission,” Aaron captioned another post.

According to the LA Mission, 3,500 meals are served at the annual event, which also provides Easter baskets to children.

Celebrities and local politicians are known to volunteer, with The Hangover’s Sondra Currie and Disney actress Kiersey Clemons also on the attendance list.

Many of the participants had early mornings as preparation began in the mission’s kitchen at 4:30 a.m., although celebrity arrivals weren’t scheduled until 10:45.

A spokesperson thanked everyone who attended in a Twitter post Friday evening, sharing a remark from a gracious guest.

"’[Today was a] Beautiful day for everyone, a blessing. Esp. for children who wouldn't otherwise get Easter baskets -#SkidRowEaster guest,’” the post read.
