John Mayer thinks Beyoncé got “real” on her latest release.

The Who You Love crooner appears to be a big fan of the pop star, who stunned the music industry when she dropped her self-titled studio album on iTunes in December without notice.

Taking to Twitter, John revealed his favourite thing about the diva: the emotion she delivers on the track XO.

“The best thing about Beyoncé? The break in her voice on the first ‘baby, love me lights out’ in XO. Real and raw,” he shared with his half-million followers.

John was in Australia at the time of his tweet, having performed at the West Coast Blues N Roots 2014 Festival in Fremantle Park in Perth.

“Post show, post shower. Clean, dry clothes. The battle for circadian rhythm rages on. This Lord Huron record is still the sh*t,” he tweeted after the show.

Beyoncé was meanwhile enjoying some downtime with husband Jay Z in Venice, California on Monday.

The pair each stunned fans with surprise performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio at the weekend.

Beyoncé took the stage to support her sister, Solange, who closed with an R&B track called Losing You.
The sisters left the crowd cheering for more.

"Coachella!!! You were AMAZING!!!! I had so much fun! Thank you lovely ones :) (sic)," Solange tweeted after the show.

Jay meanwhile performed with Diddy and Nas, who was celebrating the 20th anniversary of his release Illmatic.

Taking a break from work on Monday, Jay and Bey were seen catching brunch at celebrity hotspot Gjelina.

The couple appeared to be having the time of their lives, with Beyoncé sharing several photos of herself with her husband and sister on Instagram, including a shot of herself doing a cartwheel in a bikini, surrounded by palm trees, Monday afternoon.
