Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin were reportedly acting “lovey-dovey” at a recent party.
The former couple announced their decision to “consciously uncouple” last month after 10 years of marriage. But at a birthday party to celebrate Gwyneth’s Iron Man co-star Robert Downey Jr’s birthday, the pair seemed far from estranged, America’s People magazine reports.
“They were lovey-dovey and playful," a source said. "They were with the kids, they held hands and laughed and joked as a family. It was not the typical picture of a divorce. If the reports had not come out you would think, 'Wow, they are a perfect couple.'
The party was to celebrate Robert’s 49th birthday and both Gwyneth, 41, and Chris, 37, apparently put on a real show of togetherness. According to the source, both stars looked incredible.
“Gwyneth was in such good spirits. She had her hair pulled back in a ponytail and she looked amazing,” the insider continued. “[Chris] seemed so engaging and nice. He looked like he'd been working out. He's ripped!"
The Coldplay frontman and his wife have made it clear they remain firm friends in the wake of their split. Along with their two children Apple, nine, and Moses, eight, the pair flew to the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas the day before announcing their separation, in order to avoid any public fallout from the news.
But it seems their attitude towards each other left other guests at the party bemused.
“Nobody knew what was going on with them. It was like a shock," the source added. "It felt like they have a genuine love for each other, to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if a report came out in a couple of weeks that they are back together."
