Jessie J's bisexuality was "a phase".

The 26-year-old singer previously publicly declared she has dated both men and women and wanted to be open about her preference for her fans' sake. However, her romantic leanings have now changed and the British star is happy to discuss that too.

"For me, it was a phase," she told British newspaper The Mirror. "But I’m not saying bisexuality is a phase for everybody.

"I feel that if I continue my career not speaking on it, I almost feel more of a liar than if I didn’t. I just want to be honest, and it’s really not a big deal. Who cares?”

The star has no regrets about being open about her sexuality in the past. However, she hopes people will stop discussing it in such great depth and realise people should be free to be with whoever they want.

"I don’t regret anything I ever said, but I never knew back then that whatever I said became a fact that I couldn’t change. I’m just so bored of it, and that’s kind of it – I want to stop talking about it completely now and find myself a husband," she explained.

"I’m not anything. I’m aware of who I want to be and I want to marry a man. That’s it."

Jessie has never confirmed a romance, although she has been linked to people in the past. There is speculation she might be in a relationship at the moment after she posted a number of intriguing comments on social media, including saying she was missing someone.

The star didn't discuss her current romantic situation in the interview, but did admit finding the right person can be tough.

"It’s a true struggle. All the chick flicks that didn’t make sense to me, I now understand – Sex and the City is real!” she laughed.

Jessie previously opened up about her sexuality to fans on Twitter, telling one she dates and loves "men and only men". That has now been deleted, although longer messages in which she chats about how much she has changed are still in place.

"Fame doesn't stop people evolving and growing up.... Guess what? They can change. As they should. And I have changed and grown up ALOT, and that's allowed. And I feel more comfortable in my own skin now than ever before. We all are on a journey and I refuse to feel boxed and judged because of how I felt once! A long ass time ago. Vegetarians eat meat sometimes. Get it. People change (sic)," she wrote.
