Simon Cowell thinks parenthood helped him get his “mojo back”.

The 54-year-old music mogul and his partner Lauren Silverman welcomed son Eric on Valentine’s Day.

Simon admits he was depressed before his baby boy arrived, and his first child has offered him a whole new perspective.

“I feel happy. I seem to have got my mojo back again. My life has changed,” he told British newspaper The Sun.

Simon believes the clamour of having an infant in his home is actually exhilarating.

He wouldn’t trade the silence of bachelorhood for anything, as the noise gets him in touch with his inner child.

“The house is full of people. There is something about the noise of people around you that triggers something back to when you were a kid in my house. That is probably what I am going through at the moment and why I am embracing it so easily,” Simon explained.

“Everyone said it must be turning your life upside down but I love it. I love a bit of chaos. It makes life interesting.

“The dogs [Yorkshire Terriers, Squiddly and Diddly] are mad — and Lauren is not exactly the most quiet person in the world. It puts things in perspective having two new people in my life who I am responsible for.”

The X Factor creator named baby Eric after his late father, and he previously claimed he would never change a diaper in his whole life.

But Simon recently told the UK edition of OK! magazine he was “thinking about” giving it a go.
