Selena Gomez’s trespasser has been sentenced to 45 days in jail.

The pop star had a scare at the weekend when a 20-year-old man was arrested Sunday inside the guest house of her Calabasas, California home.

Transient Che Cruz pleaded no contest in his initial court appearance to one misdemeanour count of unauthorised entry of a dwelling house, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office obtained by Cover Media.

Deputy District Attorney Eduards Abele said Cruz was sentenced to three years’ probation in addition to the jail time, and was ordered to stay away from the pop star and her residence.

Commissioner Alvin Nierenberg of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch, also said the defendant would be prohibited from possessing any weapons.

Cruz was arrested on March 30 in a guest house on the property being purchased by Selena, according to the DA.

It’s not the first time the singer has been tangled in such an ordeal.

E! News reports police arrested another man in January for allegedly trespassing at her home in Tarzana, California.

It’s unclear if she was home at the time of the alleged incident.

The actress was also reportedly subpoenaed last week to testify in a paparazzo’s case against her on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Apparently Selena is feeling apprehensive about getting involved in the proceedings, stemming from a May 2012 altercation between the Baby hitmaker and a celebrity photographer.

“Selena is nervous to testify because she doesn’t want to say anything that could negatively affect Justin. She’s more than willing to support him but she’s not happy that she’s been dragged into the case,” a source told Hollywood Life last month.

“She thinks Justin is innocent to begin with and that all these paps are just trying to get money.”

The case continues.
