Idina Menzel made her official return to Broadway Sunday evening.
The Frozen star, who last appeared on Broadway nine years ago, took the stage for the opening night performance of If/Then after several weeks of previews and a residency in Washington, DC.
Logging onto Twitter just hours before the show, Idina thanked everyone for their hard work and appeared to be experiencing some butterflies.
'Exciting day. We've worked so hard. For several years. I love all involved. @IfThenMusical,' she tweeted.
Idina made her Broadway debut in 1996 with Rent, and took home the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for Wicked in 2004.
Gushing over her new show, an original story of two people leading parallel lives, Idina recently told Broadway.com she was thrilled to return 'home' to the Great White Way.
'I've experienced the beauty of working on original musicals and was eager to find a project where the material was exciting and new and spoke to my heart. I'm thrilled to have finally found it - an original musical with a complex, flawed and surprising central character that I cannot wait to bring to life onstage,' she said.
Producers have enjoyed heightened interest in the show in the wake of Oscar buzz surrounding Idina's recent work on Academy Award-winning animated film Frozen.
The actress infamously took the stage to perform her song from the movie musical, Let It Go, at the prize-giving earlier this month, when she was introduced by John Travolta as 'Adele Dazeem'.
