Selena Gomez is reportedly “nervous” about having to testify in Justin Bieber’s paparazzi beating case.

The actress was allegedly subpoenaed on Thursday after leaving a coffee shop in Los Angeles.

Although she is said to be standing by Justin, Selena is apparently feeling anxious about being a witness in court for the May 2012 altercation he had with a photographer.

“Selena is nervous to testify because she doesn’t want to say anything that could negatively affect Justin. She’s more than willing to support him but she’s not happy that she’s been dragged into the case,” a source told Hollywood Life. “She thinks Justin is innocent to begin with and that all these paps are just trying to get money.”

Selena is so worried about doing more harm than good with her testimony, her family are concerned about the effect all this stress is having on the 21-year-old.

The star has reportedly battled lupus in the past, and her mother Mandy Cornett doesn’t want it to flare up again.

“Her mom is more worried about her health than anything else right now. Stress and lupus don’t go together, and it’s really important that Selena take care of her body and mental state,” the source explained. “Having to testify is really stressful.”

Selena recently spoke out about how she felt she “lost herself” for a while.

Giving a speech at the We Day event on Wednesday, the actress said she sometimes felt trapped by the pressure of people’s expectations of her.

"I'm surrounded by people who are supposed to guide me and some of them have and others haven't… They tell me what to wear, how to look, what I should say, how I should be,” she said.

"Until recently I had given in to that pressure; I lost sight of who I was. I listened to opinions of people and I tried to change who I am because I thought others would accept me for it. And I realised I don't know how to be anything but myself."
