Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are reportedly enjoying their getaway together.

The couple announced on Tuesday they were ending their marriage of over ten years, and decided to head for the Bahamas to protect their children Apple, nine, and Moses, seven, from the ensuing chaos the news would bring.

Clearly the plan worked, as the family are said to be having fun on Eleuthera Island, a property that reportedly leases for $5,000 to $6,000 per week.

"They are enjoying their getaway together," a source told E! News. "They are out on the beach with the kids having fun. They are having a family vacation."

If discretion is what the couple wanted, the island is apparently the perfect place for that. Local residents tell the outlet the local community are very respectful of their guests.

"The island is a place where you go not to be seen. People come to the island to really get away. It is a very private island and there is nothing commercial here. It's a lot of land without a lot of people living here," a source revealed.

Chris and Gwyneth breaking the news as a pair and going on holiday together seems to fit with their insistence the split is not acrimonious.

Gwyneth has made it clear she thinks Chris is a wonderful father and they will continue to co-parent their children together.

“If, God forbid, we were ever not to be together, I respect him so much as the father of my children. Like, I made such a good choice,” Gwyneth previously told the US edition of Elle magazine. “He’s such a good dad. You can never be relaxed or smug and think, I’ve got this thing. That’s also part of it - keeping yourself on your toes. I’m not going to take this for granted."
