Lil Wayne will "rock with anything" that "genius" Kanye West does.

Kanye released his sixth album Yeezus last year and went on tour to promote it. He also gave a number of interviews in which he made outlandish statements, such as that he invented leather jogging pants and is the only rock 'n' roll artist left on the planet.

While many viewed his remarks as proof his ego was out of control, fellow rapper Lil Wayne backs him completely.

"I rock with anything he does. That man’s a genius," he told Elliott Wilson for his CRWN series.

"He did a whole show with a mask on. When he came out with the mask, I was like, 'This n***a crazy,' so then two songs go by, 'This n***a crazy, he still got that mask on.' Then three, four, five songs go by, go into intermission and sh*t... That's crazy as hell – y'all know I couldn't do no sh*t like that.

"I found myself out of breath in that b***h. Now you know that’s a show."

The hip-hop star is the founder of record label Young Money Entertainment, which boasts artists such as Drake and Nicki Minaj. Lil Wayne explained that this is the reason why he has stopped referring to himself as the best rapper in the world.

"I have awesome artists, simple and plain. At that time I didn't have that, I [didn't] care who on the mic. But now I have artists [and I say], 'I want you to be better than me.' Yes… I want everybody to feel like they're the best at what they do. It ain't about that now – it's about us," he said.

Lil Wayne will soon release the final instalment of Tha Carter series, Tha Carter V. He set about writing and recording it as if it will be his last record and is sure it will surprise a lot of people.

The star also touched on two of his biggest artists, claiming Drake's music still blows him away and reminiscing about when he met Nicki.

"She was being Nicki. That’s who I met and that was without the glitz and the glamour," he recalled. "When I first heard the first two and four bars, it wasn’t even about she’s rapping better than any female rapper, it was about man, she’s rapping better than the rappers, period.”
