Lily Allen feared her dog might get her into trouble with Jay Z.
The British singer is a proud mom to pampered pooch Mabel and is often spotted walking her pet.
She even takes the pup to work, which almost got her a telling off from superstar rapper Jay Z and his wife Beyoncé Knowles.
“At Hyde Park [London] a couple of years ago I tied Mabel up outside my dressing room before going on stage.
“Jay Z’s bodyguard came over and was like: ‘You have to move that dog! Jay Z and Beyoncé are about to arrive,'" she recalled to BBC Radio 2.
“Then Jay Z walked through and was like, ‘The dog is OK’.
“It was literally, 99 problems and the b***h ain’t one.'”
Lily's pet has had an eventful life and a few years ago the singer posted a picture of an injured Mabel online, following an altercation with other dogs.
While she might have avoided a fight with Jay, it seems Mabel can't escape all scrapes.
The 28-year-old shared a snap of the animal on Twitter, with pink bandages wrapped around two of the pooch's legs.
"Mabel got beaten up by bigger dogs. She went to doggy hospital, but she's OK (sic)," she posted to her followers at the time.
Lily is currently promoting her latest album Sheezus, which is due for release in May.
The first singles she's released from it are already causing controversy and the star can't help but take a peek at what people are saying.
"I couldn’t get to sleep because I was up until three o’clock in the morning just, like, looking at YouTube comments on my new video. You get addicted to the negative side of stuff," Lily recently revealed to thedebrief.co.uk.
