Kylie Minogue takes delight in the “fresh start” she’s experiencing.

The 45-year-old pop icon has undergone lots of change of late, as she is preparing to release her first album with Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation, and is also a judge on TV talent competition The Voice UK.

Upon reflection of her recent achievements, Kylie acknowledges many things in her life feel foreign and new.

“Yes, you could say 2014 has been a bit of a fresh start for me,” she told British newspaper The Sun.

“I feel like this is the start of the second half of my life. It’s been the year of all change for me. And it’s all good.”

Kylie’s 12th studio album is entitled Kiss Me Once, and many critics are giving the offering glowing reviews.

She likes the way her music turned out on this record, as she feels the tracks represent her personal best.

“It’s edgy. I’m really pleased with it,” Kylie shared.

“I needed some change in my life and just a new landscape. I didn’t really know what that meant but it’s all making sense to me now.”

Although the songstress doesn’t mind hearing herself sing, she confesses there is one thing about her vocal chords she simply despises.

“I can’t stand hearing my own voice,” Kylie said.

“I know it sounds silly, as I am a singer, but hearing my voice on tape or in an interview, it’s nooooooo!”

Kiss Me Once is slated for release this weekend.
