Robin Thicke reportedly wants to spend his birthday with estranged wife Paula Patton.

Robin, who turned 37 on Monday, and actress Paula announced they were splitting last month after nine years of marriage. But the musician is apparently still hoping she will change her mind and take him back.

“He has done everything that Paula has asked of him and he really wants to spend his birthday with her and their son,” a source told Hollywood Life.

“He really has realised that she is everything to him and he doesn’t want to make the same mistakes that his father made with him.”

Paula is allegedly softening towards Robin, especially as he his recent behaviour has been exemplary. The 38-year-old is said to be watching him closely and appreciates what she sees.

“She is really liking the person he is showing her. It’s the Robin she fell in love with,” the source added. “He isn’t totally out of the doghouse yet but the chances of them being back together very soon are in the high 90 percent. It’s only a matter of time. He is really doing work.”

Paula and Robin have one child – son Julian, three.

The singer has made it clear he loves his family and will do anything to have them all together again.

During his March 2 concert at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in New Jersey, Robin told the audience to never give up on their loved ones.

"Never stop believing and you never stop loving. And even if it is over, make sure you treat each other right. Treat your family right,” he said, according to E! News. “Take care of your mom, take care of your kids and good things will come to you. Just keep believing that God is good. That's what gets me by. Sometimes when I get a little scared or worried about the future, I just try to stay positive and do my part to spread love and spread joy."
