Adam Levine urges people with ADHD to “see somebody”.

The 34-year-old Maroon 5 frontman suffers from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, a psychiatric condition which makes it hard to maintain focus for long periods of time.

Adam filmed a public service announcement for the Own It campaign in which he discusses his illness, and he hopes it will inspire people to seek support.

"If somebody approached me and said that anything that I said, helped them figure it out -- or someone came to me and said I need help what do you suggest I do – the first thing I would suggest they do is see somebody," he told Us Weekly. "See a doctor about it."

Adam, who is currently engaged to Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo, discussed his deepest struggles with ADHD in the new advert.

"When I was first diagnosed with ADHD, it wasn't a surprise because I had difficulty in high school focusing," he said in the PSA.

"And I think now, people notice my ADHD as an adult on a daily basis. When I can't pay attention, I really can't pay attention."

Adam has spoken about suffering from acne before after signing up to endorse ProActiv, a company which makes popular skincare products.

And the star hopes to make a difference whenever he speaks about his personal difficulties with health issues.

"I like to always make sure that whatever I’m promoting or talking about or discussing at length, is something that I have personal, hands on experience with," Adam said to the magazine.
