Ellie Goulding says she's 'a pro' at losing awards.
The 27-year-old pop star is nominated for Best Female, Best Single and Best Video at Wednesday night's BRIT Awards, but she's not holding out hopes she'll take home any of the honours.
'I'm definitely a pro at dealing with not winning,' she told UK newspaper The Sun.
'I've been to a lot of awards now where I haven't won. Who knows if I'll win at the BRITS. Fingers crossed, but if I don't I won't be surprised. I have learnt not to get my hopes up.'
Despite dealing with upsetting losses in the past, Ellie tries her best to have an optimistic attitude.
The Burn hitmaker insists she simply feels fortunate to be named among a group of such talented artists.
'I feel lucky to be in the Best Female category with four other amazing people. I'm honoured to be in a world where I'm able to attend these award ceremonies. It's nuts," she said.
Ellie took home the Critics' Choice Award back in 2010, but she failed to score Best Female and Best Breakthrough at the BRITS back in 2011.
Still, Ellie doesn't discount it would feel good to win.
A prize for her first number one song, Burn, would mean the world, she confessed.
'I would love Burn to win Best Single, I'm so proud of that song,' Ellie said.
'I hear it everywhere and it never annoys me, even if it might annoy other people. That's really rare and I love performing it because it makes people's faces light up.'
