Selena Gomez reportedly hopes Justin Bieber will "connect with her" on Valentine's Day.
The former couple ended things last year but have been spotted out together several times since their split.
With February 14 just days away, Selena is thought to want her former flame to surprise her with a romantic gesture. If he doesn't, the brunette beauty is reportedly determined to try and move on for good.
"Selena is no longer making any attempts to reach out to Justin. She's hoping Justin will at least make an attempt to connect with her on Valentine's Day and see how she's doing," a source told HollywoodLife.com
"If she doesn't hear from him then there is absolutely no way she is going to make any effort to wish him a happy birthday. A Valentine's Day diss will just be the last straw. Of course this would make Selena's family and friends happy, but not Selena. She's still in love with him, she can't help it."
Both stars' lives have been turbulent as of late. It was recently revealed Selena spent two weeks in rehab for emotional reasons last month, while Justin has a string of legal issues behind him, such as reportedly egging his Calabasas neighbour's home.
While Selena is said to have been urged to avoid seeing her ex-boyfriend it seems this distance only causes more heartache.
"The more Justin moves away from Selena, the more she wants him. The whole relationship is unhealthy and toxic for her," the source added.
"She is supposed to be going to 12-step support meetings to deal with her co-dependency issues, but she doesn't really think they will help. She still doesn't really get the insanity of the relationship."
HollywoodLife.com previously claimed the former Disney star's family have been trying to support her.
"They have someone near her at all times and they are trying to do everything to get her back to a healthy lifestyle. It's step by step and going very slow but they are hoping Selena realises she needs help and will obtain it," an insider revealed.
