Nick Jonas is the musical and creative director of Demi Lovato’s Neon Lights Tour.

The 21-year-old pop star, who split from the Jonas Brothers in October, told Rolling Stone magazine he took the job on just a few months ago.

In an interview published on Tuesday, Nick said he’s been working tirelessly to craft the show Demi has been imagining, which kicks off in Vancouver February 9.

"I'm overseeing video content, wardrobe, lighting and staging. And then I'm extending into the musical side of things, which includes creating the arrangements for the songs. I'm building what Demi wanted, which is a show without stops and starts,” he revealed.

Demi and Nick have been friends for years, with the Heart Attack singer even opening for the Jonas Brothers on their Burnin’ Up Tour in 2008. The group also collaborated on Demi’s album released that same year, Don’t Forget.

And Nick believes the friendship they’ve developed over nearly a decade is making for a fruitful partnership.

"I was immediately excited when I was offered the position. The relationship that Demi and I had over eight years really gives me the insight into how to best communicate with her and her team,” he shared.

Nick said he will be present for the Vancouver show, but he’s also planning to focus on his own work once the tour gets running.
He said of his upcoming solo album: "Some of it is done and ready to be released. I've got a lot of things in the pipeline right now and I'm waiting to release some news about my music and my next steps.”
