Sharon Osbourne says people should ease up on Justin Bieber.

The rock ‘n roll matriarch addressed the pop star’s latest legal woes during a segment on US chat show The Talk on Thursday.

While she admitted she’s guilty of bad-mouthing Justin in the past, Sharon said it was her own son, Jack, who urged her to think about the microscope he’s under.

“I know I have I think been very hard on him - probably because of my experience in the industry seeing people come and go, and especially with pop music because it’s so disposable,” Sharon said.

“I was doing an interview with my son for Fuse [network] and he asked me about Bieber… and he said, ‘Mom, you’ve been very hard on him. Look at what we were doing at his age.’ And I thought, ‘You’re right,’” she recalled.

Sharon, Jack and his sister, Kelly, famously struggled with addiction during their time on reality show The Osbournes, which featured the family and their eccentric rock star dad, Ozzy.

In addition to comparing their own challenges with the pitfalls of fame, Sharon also noted Justin’s sold out concerts generate a substantial number of jobs and revenue.

Justin’s critics may not be easing up anytime soon, however.

The 19-year-old was arrested earlier this month for driving under the influence during a drag race in Miami. He appeared in court and was released from jail on a $2,500 bond.

He's also been charged with assault for allegedly hitting a Toronto limousine driver in January, after he handed himself in to a Toronto police station last night.

Justin is next expected in court for a hearing on the Miami incident on February 14.
