Selena Gomez is ‘broken up’ over Justin Bieber’s new girlfriend, according to reports.
The Come & Get It singer dated the 19-year-old Canadian for two years until January 2013.
But since Justin’s arrest for alleged drag racing and DUI last week, he has been spotted with Miami model Chantel Jefferies.
The Beauty and the Beat singer fled to Panama with Chantel after his release from prison and this has reportedly caused Selena a lot of pain.
“Selena is completely broken up over Justin,” a friend of the singer told HollywoodLife.com. “She feels in her heart that the reason Justin is basically choosing Chantel over her is because he wants to be with a partier, and someone who will just go along with whatever ever he says — something Selena won’t do.”
The 21-year-old beauty has reportedly spoken to Justin since his arrest, but he has made no moves to apologise for his actions.
The former couple have had a rocky friendship since their split and this is what seems to be at the heart of Selena’s pain.
“She’s really sad,” the source continued. “Sad because she feels like she’s lost her best friend. Justin used to treat Selena like a princess and now it’s like she never existed.”
Selena has been putting on a brave front for the paparazzi in recent days and has been spending time with her BFF Demi Lovato.
But it seems Demi isn’t the only one trying to help Selena overcome her feelings for Justin.
It has been reported that Taylor Swift has set Selena up with 17-year-old pop newcomer Austin Mahone.
They apparently "sneaked out" of the same concert separately on January 24 and a spy claims Selena got into the same car as Austin.
“They're seeing each other," a source told US Weekly.
