Ed Sheeran has advised young celebrities to not feel like a "victim".
The 22-year-old singer-songwriter was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last night. He was beaten by duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, who scooped the prestigious gong.
When quizzed on the red carpet about how he deals with the pressure of fame Ed shared his optimistic outlook on life.
"Enjoy it. Enjoy it. Don't feel like you're the victim. You're in this job because you want to be in this job," he told Entertainment Tonight's Nancy O'Dell and Elvis Duran. "Enjoy it. That's what you do it for. If you don't enjoy it, stop doing it."
Ed has already won several titles so far in his career, such as the British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male Artist at the 2012 BRIT Awards. Despite finding fame with his much-loved music the red-haired musician insists not a lot has changed in his life.
"It hasn't really affected anything to do with friendship or family," he explained. "It doesn't really matter. It just means I can be more comfortable and eat steak now and then."
The Lego House singer opted to wear a smart black suit and his late grandfather's tie for the ceremony last night, given an edgy touch with a pair of black sneakers. This dapper appearance contrasted against some of the more casual outfits he has worn to previous events.
Ed admits the reason he'd arrive looking so dressed-down in the past was because of his income.
"When I first started going to awards shows, it was before any of the money had come in," he laughed. "So I was just rocking normal jumpers and stuff. And I was always voted worst dressed."
