Selena Gomez will care for Justin Bieber “no matter what”.
The 21-year-old actress revealed her true sentiments towards her ex-boyfriend ahead of his Miami arrest.
Before the furore over his wild behaviour took hold, Selena sweetly demonstrated her affection for Justin.
“I will always care about Justin no matter what - my instinct after all we have been through is to protect him from any harm,” she told British newspaper The Daily Mail in an interview held days before her ex was charged with a DUI.
Without addressing Justin’s personal demons, which are rumoured to be related to drug abuse, Selena offered her take on what is happening in his life.
The star believes the teenage heartthrob is experiencing whatever he needs to learn for emotional growth.
“Part of life and growing up are going through things that aren't comfortable - and you hope you come out the other side a stronger person,” Selena mused.
“Whatever he is going through, I want to see him come out the other side stronger.”
Justin was officially charged for DUI, resisting arrest without violence and driving on an expired licence in a Miami court on Thursday. He was subsequently released from jail on a $2,500 bond.
Justin is also being investigated for felony vandalism, as a neighbour has accused him of causing $20,000 worth of damage following an egg-throwing incident.
Hours after Justin’s release Selena was seen heading for dinner with best friend Demi Lovato in West Hollywood where she made no comment on her ex-boyfriend’s arrest.
