Xfm has announced Blur's Dave Rowntree will host his very own Thursday night show from today (9th January 2014).
Broadcasting across the UK each Thursday from 9-10pm, Dave will delve into his personal record collection to bring Xfm listeners an eclectic selection of music, alongside some incredible stories about his outstanding music career.
As drummer for one of the most influential bands in UK music history, Dave will share his extensive musical knowledge and experiences with listeners over the coming weeks. With over two decades as Blur's drummer, with their countless music awards and a host of number one singles and albums, Dave is well appointed to entertain and engage the Xfm listeners.
Dave Rowntree said: 'I'm incredibly excited at the prospect of having my own show on Xfm. The station is known for its quality music and comedy, and for gambling its future on untried, untrusted and usually unwashed presenters. I'm genuinely humbled to be part of that tradition.'
Xfm Managing Editor, Chris Baughen commented: 'Dave has pretty much seen, done and won everything when it comes to music. In addition to this, he's a natural born presenter who I'm sure will become a firm favourite with the Xfm audience by the end of his first link.'
Tune in to Dave Rowntree every Thursday night from 9-10pm (from Thursday 9th January), on Xfm ' available in London on 104.9 FM, in Manchester on 97.7 FM, and across the UK on DAB digital radio, at xfm.co.uk and on the app.
In the latest industry results by RAJAR, Xfm attracts an audience of 963,000* listeners across the UK each week.
