Ringo Starr will become a Powerpuff Girl for the cartoon superhero comeback on January 20.

Starr will star in a special new episode of The Powerpuff Girls.

The Powerpuff Girls was created by Craig McCracken for the Cartoon Network. Six seasons ran from 1998 to 2004. McCracken was also behind Dexter’s Laboratory.

The Powerpuff Girls are Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. Blossom is pink, Bubbles is blue, Buttercup is green. Ringo will be yellow.

The girls all have powers to defend their town from villains. When they aren’t saving the world they have to deal with issues such as loose teeth, personal hygiene, bed wetting and going to school.

The storyline previously crossed the path of The Beatles. One show ‘Meet The Beat Alls’ paid homage to the fab 4.

Ringo will voice the new character Fibonacci Sequins in the show. Fibonacci, an opera singer and a badger, will be kidnapped in the show. The Powerpuff Girls will come to their rescue.

Ringo also recently performed on Dave Stewart’s new online show The Ringmaster. He toured Australia for the first time as a solo artist in 2013.
