Leona Lewis doesn't give "two c**ps" what people think of her.
The usually reserved British singer let rip at the people who constantly criticise her, insisting she carries on making music for her fans.
Leona is known for her heartbreak ballads, which mean her performances are often subdued and emotional. But the singer found herself smiling much more with the release of her festive album Christmas With Love.
"I couldn't give two c**ps what people think. I know what I do comes from the heart, so whatever other people say is irrelevant. People are always going to have an opinion of you. I just concentrate on the love I get from the fans," she fumed to British Newspaper the Daily Star.
"I never smile when I sing, as I'm drawn to melancholy, heart-wrenching melodies. It's been nice to get out of that headspace and have fun."
And it seems the lighter songs have had a lasting influence on the 28-year-old Londoner.
With her latest project Leona seems to be moving away from tunes about heartbreak and into the rhythm and blues sounds of Motown.
"My next album will be more Motowny. The songs won't all be 'Yay' but they'll have some fun. We wrote some non-festive songs with that energy, which we've set aside for my next record," she explained.
Leona is also keen to join a band, and has her eye on an all girl group made up of three sisters from Los Angeles.
"I'd love to become the fourth HAIM. I'd totally change my surname and become Leona Haim for those girls.
"Maybe we could merge our names? Haimlew? No, wait, we'd be The Haimlech Manoeuvre," she laughed.
She'd also love to work with Bruno Mars, but fears she's going about it the wrong way.
"I keep saying I'd love to work with him. I'm worried I'm going to get a court order from his manager telling me to please stop stalking Mr Mars!" she giggled.
