Justin Bieber’s mom is not “a fan” of his moustache.

The 19-year-old singer has been sporting a fuzz of facial hair recently, amid rumours he’s ready to retire from the limelight.

While she didn’t address the speculation, his mother Pattie Mallette did talk about her son’s new look.

"I'm not a big fan," she admitted to MTV News. "I'm hoping he'll grow out of it."

The past year has been busy for Justin, who has travelled the world with his Believe Tour and promoting his accompanying movie and album.

He’s also been involved in several scandals, including rumours he’d been speeding around his neighbourhood in his car and smoking marijuana.

Pattie admits it’s been a surreal time for the teenager.

"It's really fun watching him grow and transition," she smiled. "It's just been this crazy whirlwind, and I'm just along for the ride."

If the young star really retires, he’ll leave millions of fans, his so called ‘Beliebers’, heartbroken.

Even his mother has gained some admirers thanks to her son’s incredible fame.

"There's, like, 3 million Twitter followers who call me mom," she marvelled.

Justin’s manager Scooter Braun recently spoke out about the star’s apparent decision to take some time out.

Scooter worries Justin is turning into a workaholic.

“I hear him saying, ‘I’m going to take the year,’ but I’m going to force him to take the year because after three weeks… he’ll want to work again,” he explained to Access Hollywood.

“He hasn’t taken time off since he was 12… I think it’s important to find out who he wants to be.”
