Justin Bieber's manager says he's forcing the star to take a year off.
The Baby hitmaker sparked controversy last week when he told an interviewer he's retiring from music.
And his manager Scooter Braun is concerned Justin won't be able to handle 12 months without working on more songs
'I hear him saying, 'I'm going to take the year,' but I'm going to force him to take the year because after three weeks. he'll want to work again,' he explained to Access Hollywood.
'He hasn't taken time off since he was 12. I think it's important to find out who he wants to be.'
During the chat with the outlet, Scooter also reiterated the star's comments were taken out of context.
Although Justin had assured the reporter he was joking, he will in fact be taking a break.
'They cut off before he says he's kidding,' Scooter said of the Vine video that went viral, before confirming, 'He's going to take some time off for himself.'
Justin, 19, is apparently looking forward to spending time with his family during his respite.
The pop star has two young siblings, little brother Jaxon and sister Jazmyn, and he also wants to have children of his own one day.
'He doesn't want to miss their childhood,' Scooter said. 'He wants a family. He wants kids. He wants to be happy someday.
'For him it's not worth it to lose all of that ' the normalcy ' unless you can be the best you can be,' he explained.
