Mariah Carey won’t place “an enormity of presents” under the Christmas tree.

The 43-year-old songstress is spending the holidays with her husband Nick Cannon and their two-year-old fraternal twins Monroe and Moroccan.

Now that her tykes are getting older, diva Mariah wants them to discover thankfulness and appreciation.

“This is the first time they’re really getting that Christmas is an event that they are going to receive gifts,” she explained to Access Hollywood.

“I want to do presents for the kids, but I don’t want to do an enormity of presents with the kids. It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s just that I don’t think that they’re going to get it [and] understand what it means this year. They need to appreciate one or two or three gifts.”

Mariah does confess, however, that her daughter Monroe has some pretty swanky gifts on her wish list this year.

In complete contrast with her twin brother, Monroe apparently wants the glamorous accessories that her stunning mother wears.

“[She wants my] necklace, my diamonds,” Mariah laughed, noting her little girl is enamoured with “bling”.

“I said, ‘This is mommy’s. You know who bought this for mommy? Mommy. You know how long it took mommy to get it? A really, really long time yeah.’

“I don’t know if she can hold it up. She’ll get some little ruby earrings or something, darling please.”
