Miley Cyrus doesn't "always" want to be naked.

The 21-year-old is one of the most talked about stars of 2013, thanks to her risqué outfit choices and onstage performances.

While it's gained her a great deal of publicity, Miley doesn't just want to be seen as the girl who takes her clothes off.

“I don’t always want to be naked,” she revealed in an interview with Barbara Walters, adding it's a lose-lose situation. “No matter what I do, I’m either boring or I’m a sl*t.”

It's been a time of change for Miley, who shocked her fans by shaving off her long locks and ending her engagement to The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth.

In a moment of reflection, the singer admitted she wasn't comfortable in her own skin.

“I was never really happy with who I was," she mused.

Miley shocked viewers when she performed a seductive twerking dance with Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards this year.

She also raised eyebrows with her video for track Wrecking Ball, in which she appears almost completely naked.

Her mother Tish admits it can be worrying to see some of her daughter's antics.

“There are times, as a mom, I’m like, ‘What are you thinking?'" she weighed in. “This is what 20-year-olds do. She’s just doing it in front of the world.”

Miley also opened up about her relationship with Liam, claiming she doesn't ever want to be in a position where she "needs" someone again.
