Will Ferrell was politely asked by Kanye West to never rap again.

The 46-year-old funnyman stars as slapstick newscaster Ron Burgundy in Anchorman 2 and Kanye makes a cameo in the film.

While on set shooting the picture, Will recalls a time when he tried to impress the hip-hop star with his rapping skills.

"I did [rap with him], and then he very politely said, 'Don't ever do that again. You're horrible,'" Will told ET Online.

It has recently been reported that Kanye’s personality clashed with Anchorman 2’s cast and crew.

But Will claims there was no bad blood in the air, as every celebrity involved in the film was eager to make their cameo work.

"We've got some very A-list stars who joined that scene, but in terms of any ego issue everyone was just so excited to be there, and such a fan of the first one, and literally telling us, 'We'll do anything,'" he recalled.

While being interviewed by British talk show host Jonathan Ross earlier, Will gave even more insight into his experience working with Kanye.

And it seems that the rapper made a lasting impression on the comedian.

"It was very surreal to have Kanye – who’s such a big fan of comedy – in our movie hanging out for two days. He was playing the new tracks a lot – over and over. Even when you’re trying to film, he’s playing the tracks,” Will said. “They’re loud, too. We got a scared 18-year-old intern to ask him to turn them down.”
