Lewis Hamilton's family are apparently pushing a reunion with Nicole Scherzinger.

The pair have been dating on and off since 2010 but called time on their relationship in July this year.

Now there are rumours they will spend the festive season, which would reportedly make the Formula One star's loved ones very happy.

"Lewis' family can see how much both of them are hurting and have encouraged Nicole to reopen the lines of communication with Lewis," a source told British magazine Star.

"His cousins visited her at The X Factor several weeks ago and spent a lot of time with her in her dressing room.

"There was a lot of chat about them getting back together and about old times. Understandably for Nicole, things got emotional. They were together for years - there's a lot of history."

Hawaiian-born Nicole has been spending a lot of time in the UK as she is a judge on The X Factor.

She recently admitted she misses home and would love to go back for Christmas.

Apparently 28-year-old Lewis is prepared to follow her wherever she decides to go.

"Nicole loves London but it's understandable she wants to spend time at home after six months here," the insider continued.

"But Lewis will fly over to see her whenever she's ready."

Nicole, 35, has been fairly open about the breakup, hinting she'd be happy with a reunion.

"I hope so. I would love that. For now, we are just friends. But whatever the future holds, I don't rule anything out. I also don't have any regrets," she previously said.
