Niall Horan had to take a few minutes to calm down, after getting stuck in an elevator.

The One Direction star found himself trapped with seven others in a “tiny lift.”

After being freed, the 20-year-old took to his twitter account to tell loyal fans how scared he’d been.

“Needed a few minutes to myself ! 8 of us got stuck in a tiny lift ! Well I was freakin out! My heart is still thumping now!

“That wasn't fun! Claustrophobia is a terrible thing! and people tellin ya t calm down is worse hahha (sic),” he told his 16million fans.

The British boy band are currently in Milan on promotional duties.

Niall kept his fans updated on what he was up to with a stream of messages from the Italian city, even commenting on how crazy Milan is.

“Milan is nuts today! u guys don't mess around do u?(sic),” he asked.

But band mate Louis Tomlinson didn’t seem so impressed.

The 21-year-old was missing his favourite breakfast cereal, and wasn’t amused that the hotel’s room service didn’t offer what he wanted.

“Not having coco pops on room service is a crime !!” he told his 14.3million followers.

It was recently revealed by Twitter what their top tweets of 2013 have been, with a post by Niall bagging one of the top spots.

Upon turning 20 earlier this year Niall tweeted “Yesss! I'm 20! Wohooo ! No more teens! (sic)", which was retweeted more than 375,000 times.
