R. Kelly has announced a new holiday album called the 12 Nights of Christmas.
The musician started recording the new album last year, and is planning to release it at some point in 2014.
According to Kelly, fans can expect some very sexy Yuletide music from the new project.
“I’m working on a Christmas album right now called the 12 Nights of Christmas and it’s gonna be a lot of lovemaking,” he told Rap-Up.com. “I come with that bearing gifts. I started it last Christmas actually, but I don’t believe in just putting out a Christmas album just to sell records. It has to be the next ['This Christmas']. In order to get that and capture that moment, you have to take a couple of Christmases and then you come with it.”
While people will have to wait to hear Kelly’s sultry holiday tracks, he has contributed to a new seasonal song called Christmas I’ll Be Steppin’. The song is featured on the Best Man Holiday soundtrack, and according to the R&B star he has plenty of other material "sitting up like rockets ready to be launched".
“My next album is halfway written already,” he revealed. “It’s gonna be another 12 Play album. It’s gonna be that type of album because there’s been a lovemaking album drought…and I’ve come to save the day.”
