Michael Bublé has joked about making an egg-themed Easter album.

The 38-year-old singer dominates the festive music charts each year with his successful 2011 Christmas record.

Tracks on the record include covers of classic songs such as Jingle Bells and Santa Baby.

As part of an appearance on British radio station BBC Radio 1 Michael prank-called his producer friend David at Universal with a quirky musical suggestion.

"I wanted to ask you something, and you're gonna think I'm crazy, but I just... I know that you're with Universal now and I know that, you know, we don't produce and all that because we're at different labels, but I have an idea that I think you can produce for me. It's a record of Easter songs" Michael mused.

His businessman pal sounded surprised, but urged Michael to explain what tracks he would include.

"David if you could do an Easter song what would you choose? There's many egg songs... Humpty Dumpty. What's another egg song? What about, 'They call it mellow yellow - quite rightly.' That could be a song on eggs. Um... 'Put your eggs on my shoulder'."

When the joke was revealed David sounded relieved. As Michael giggled the producer admitted he thought the singer was under the influence during the chat.

"[I thought], 'You shouldn't be drinking in the morning,'" David laughed.

Michael - who has three-month-old son Noah with his wife Luisana Lopilato - is known for his sense of humour and down-to-earth nature. When flicking through his mobile phone contact list the Canadian heartthrob admitted he doesn't have many A-list star's numbers.

"Let me just look... you know what? I don't know," he replied when asked by breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw who the most famous person in his phonebook is. "I don't really know that many famous people. I've got weird celebrity friends, like I've got the girl who does the voice of Bart Simpson!"
