Tom Parker has told Max George to "be strong".

The Wanted singer had to drop out of shows in America to attend to "family matters".

It seems his bandmates Tom, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes are behind the 25-year-old during this difficult time.

There was also an outpouring of love from a rather unexpected source - One Direction fans.

"Sending my love to @MaxTheWanted Be strong brother. We're here for you!! :) x," Tom tweeted in support.

"It's nice to see a trend from another fan base wishing max love. Times like these when people pull together. Much love to you all x (sic)."

It's currently not known exactly why Max had to leave the tour, but it seems the Brit has returned to the UK.

The Wanted's official Twitter page made sure to keep fans updated on the situation.

"To let all our #TWFanmily know, @MaxTheWanted headed home to attend some family matters & won't be with us for the rest of the trip," a message read.

"We will crack on as a 4-piece so we look forward to seeing you all in Charlotte, Montreal, Buffalo, Green Bay & Chicago.

"Thanks all for understanding. Send positive thoughts @MaxTheWanted's way

"Thank you so much for all your lovely tweets and messages of support for @MaxTheWanted we know he really appreciates it. x (sic)."

Luckily there was also some good news for The Wanted.

Siva, 25, revealed earlier this week that he is engaged to his long-term girlfriend Nareesha McCaffrey.

"We also want to say a huge congratulations to @SivaTheWanted and @Nare_esha on their engagement. We love you guys x (sic)," the band's Twitter account posted.
