Selena Gomez reportedly accompanied Demi Lovato to a rehab centre.

Demi entered a treatment facility in 2010 to address issues with self-harming and bulimia and lived in a sober home for several months. Since then, Demi has been drawing on her experiences to help others. The 21-year-old star apparently recently spoke to a recovery group, and Selena decided to show her support for her friend by coming along.

“Demi… showed up to speak to a recovery group... something she rarely does, and Selena came along for the ride,” reports TMZ. “Demi spoke to the group for an hour ... telling a pretty inspiring personal survival story.”

Demi has spoken out about her health issues in the past.

The former Disney star was admitted to rehab three years ago due to physical and emotional issues. She later admitted suffering from bulimia and self-harming, and also turned to alcohol and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

During her hour-long talk with the group, Demi recalled her battles and how she got her life back on track.

The singer-and-actress explained how important it was for her to be surrounded by positive influences, naming Selena as someone who gave her a great deal of strength.

Demi recently publicly thanked Selena for offering her so much support.

“I ended up having to go through some stuff,” she said. “Fortunately I have family and friends around me that are very, very supportive of me and my recovery and everything I stand for… Selena because she called me crying when I was in there and was just so worried. “I was like, ‘Look, I should be the one crying, it’s all good!’ But she was so worried and ever since then we’ve gotten closer.”
